“Providing functional communication skills to every child.”

***NOW ENROLLING FOR SPRING AND SUMMER 2008 CLASSES!***

Communication Counts provides social communication skill groups for children entering grades PreK-8.  These groups of 8 children are facilitated by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists.  This program is designed to promote communication and social language skills for children with or without a diagnosed social difficulty.  Children will learn specific strategies to help them become more comfortable communicating in a social atmosphere.  Communication Counts uses role-playing, games and other hands-on activities to help promote generalization of the skills that are directly taught during these groups.

Each group's focus varies depending on the age group and individualized needs assessments that are completed by the parents prior to the first meeting.  Parents will be provided with information regarding the skills taught and ideas for generalization into other environments after each class as well as a summary of progress at the end of each 6 week session.
